Parvathi Sreekumar Postdoctoral Fellow (B4)

Educational Background:

For my PhD program at the Department of Crop Physiology, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, India, I was focussing on understanding the role of transcriptional regulation in modulation of stress acclimation response in plants. I was working with stress adapted plant systems, to learn from their adaptive mechanisms, which could be extended to susceptible staple food crops for enhancing their stress tolerance.

Area of Research: I am interested in understanding the role of basal regulators in orchestrating transcription process under stress conditions in living system. The cooperative activity of multiple regulatory transcription factors is worth exploratory, to understand the intricate gene networks involved in cellular signalling under specific stress conditions.
