Educational Background:

During my PhD at The National Autonomous University of Mexico, I studied the dynamical robustness and adaptability of transcriptional patterns encoded by transcriptional networks using, as a model, Random Boolean Networks. I also measured the dynamical phase at which real transcription networks operate by using microarray data and Bayesian Parametric Inference.

Area of Research:

I am involved in the design of an experimental assay to obtain genome-wide transcriptional patterns at the single cell level for the microorganism E. coli. I am also studying hysteresis in the systems responsible for carbon uptake as an example of how the cell can store information without mutating or methylating DNA.
